It would be nice to be able to have some way of linking to the specific posts where we get ratings from. I personally would have liked to be able to see where some ratings come from, because I notice that I get ratings that I just would like to know the source of.

What do you all think?

It's a good idea but it's not exactly a piece of cake to implement.

This has been suggested before, by others including myself.
Therefore I am not gong to rate it as anything, though it would be 'spam' in some peoples way of thinking.

I actually believe this is important if the rating system is to be meaningful. Right now it is far from meaningful and I am ignoring it altogether.

Agreed it would not be easy to implement, but not impossible.
Perhaps a way to start would be this:
You know the thing where you can review all posts by yourself or by member X? Well put in there, on each line, a row of icons showing what ratings were received.

I don't see how anyone would see this as spam, there's no thread in the SUGGESTIONS forum about it. Seriously, get your mind off spam because you got banned once, i swear.

I am not referring only to what is called spam, but to ratings generally.
I agree totally with FallenMorgan (http://www.zomgstuff.net/forum/member.php?u=75) but since it has been suggested twice before, I didn't rate it as anything.

Far from being concentrated on spam, I am concerned that the rating system meets sensible criterea.
I do think it is being abused which is why I sought a definition for spam, being as it is the most abused category.

I think if people could find out where their ratings were coming from, and then these compared to an acceptable definitions, some very interesting patterns would be observed in that data. (Science)

IMO the rating system is by now so BXXd by abuse one way and and another that I just don't care anymore. (not just in my own case)
I said that about repeat posts because (apparantly) some of my own rating arose from this.

Edit2:
Sorry for this post.
Two VIPs have since informed me that suggestions from newbs are not welcome. (I don't mean your comment Rapid - that was reasonable enough)
