Hoping for Way to Reduce UI Clutter

Mr Hasslehoff. Thank you for your time and work on COH.


I know that there is a console command to remove the taskbar (taskbar_hide)-

But it is a hassle to enter and reenter the console-
Is there any way to create a cvar, keybind or script to toggle this HUD crap on and off?

What the hell was RELIC thinking? Am I really this dumb, that I need giant blue cones, spinning green arrows and neon signs over stragegic points that are already all over the mini map and command map????!

No options to remove this crap?? This really, seriously F's up a great game.
Sorting through cartoon colors and spinning, glowing icons is not my idea of fun or a challenge.

Does that stuff last all game? I agree with you, unless it's only the first couple missions, then I guess you'll just have to suck it up :P

What key is to open console? I tried ~ and its not it. I tried every key on my board. That ofcourse was on skirmish... If you tell me how to access console I can help youi.

CCCP- thanks for the suggestion. Did so.

The console is accessed through Ctrl,Shift+~

So far, I know that "Taskbar_hide" will remove the UI and "Message_hide" takes out the "Pause" display. But each time you have to go into the console and enter the text to toggle it on-off.

Hit "Tab" and a list of the various commands are available.



Like setting the zoom....I just dont know what the high and low values are for the settings. Would be great to be able to

-zoom out further.
- bind the camera rotate to say the "Delete" button as I use arrows to move around screen and the Alt tab is a stretch.

And most of all for the love of God, be able to toggle in and out of a clear, realistic screen. No colored borders, no spinning green arrows or blue coloms of light with messages attached, .....well anyway. Nothing like a grown man taking a game too seriously.

If you could come up with a way to do this, man that would be great.

A key? Um-er-uhh...I think "P" is not used. Any would do.

Here is a temp solution. You have to open console yourself then hit numpad ` to show or numpad0 to hide.

I'm going to try to figure out how to make it open console itself. I'm having a small lil obstacle with that.
