1) Create a shortcut to the game or application.
2) Set the target of the shortcut to ""(location of game or application)" -window"
EX: "C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Warcraft III.exe" -window
3) Launch the shortcut.
It is as simple as that..

How come newbies always bump threads of 1-2 years old? Haven't they ever visited a forum before?

Relax guys, he just wanted some help. I'd bump a thread too if I had a question like this and I'd never been to this forum before. Obviously he found this on google and wanted some help.
What program are you trying this with Caradogga?

Won't work with Starcraft. It was implemented with WC3. I wish they would patch it. When I run it full screen on my 1280x1024 monitor it fucks up some of the colors.

It doesnt work for all games. Also for Diablo II the parameter code to make it window mode is -w not -window. But this works for Warcraft.

Also -w /w /w alt+enter etc.

In most games you can set it under video options to open in window mode, but this is uuseful if you cant

check out DxWnd, only works for directx games though, and for really only directx games like SC you need a certain version.
for SC I use v1.0.3.5 (it says that under properties).
and it supports
Starcraft/Diablo I/Warcraft II
==============================
* Use the Starcraft/Diablo I/Warcraft II patcher.
Privateer 2: The Darkening (Win95 Edition)
==========================================
* Use defaults.
Master of Orion 2: Battle at Antares
====================================
* Use defaults.
Civilization III
================
* Check "Patch All Modules" and "Keep Window Inside Screen".
* Set the window size to match your screen resolution in pixels.
* Set "KeepRes=1" in Civilization3.Ini (this value may not exist by default).
* Leave other options at their defaults.

dxwind refuses to work for me. I spent 3 hours trying to get it to work the other day.
