Hey guys, I was thinking about some sort of Zomgstuff.com raffle.


I was thinking about a sort of weekly/monthly raffle. This will of course be on my time (along with anyone else who wants to help out) and proceeds will go towards the site.

We would need -

Willing members
Members willing to sit out for a raffle here and there to help out ( may not be necessary)
Ideas for prizes
People with paypal


Suggestions are welcome, please help out. I want this to be a fun thing for members to participate in, and not something where people are constantly losing shit loads of money, so at the beginning each ticket might go for $4-$5 bucks.

I will need help setting up, and promoting this, as I don't think it will be easy to get people interested in.


What do you think? The first thing this whole thing needs is YOU. I need lots of suggestions, I'm open to everything.

Hmm, It depends on a lot. 5 bucks every two weeks? I don't think that's too much to ask...

Say five people enter, 25 bucks total. winner wins $15 bucks and 10 goes to the site.

I'm not putting my own money into this, all the money would have to come from members, and yes, once there are enough people the amount won would grow...

If you think about it, you wouldn't even need that many people to get up to 100 bucks. Especially if some people buy 2 + tickets...

Seeing as how there is a huge number in those who do not have paypal (or those stupid enough to not know how it works), having a raffle would present itsself with a bunch of problems.

Say Bob from bumfucktown wants to enter the raffle, but he's a little 12 year old kiddie (just go with me) but he doesn't have paypal, nor does he have a credit card. How would Bob participate in the raffle?

It seems like a good idea in theory, but prizes other than cash seem much more appealing.

if you have a job, you know that $5 is not a lot of money. i think it's a good idea , and there are about 8 or so people who might be interested, so there would be enough money.
also you could just make diff raffles like with diff amounts of money and stuff. like have a $2 one and a $5 one, and so on

Like Wtr said, if you have a job, 5 bucks is really nothing, this isn't going to be a thing were I profit much at all, it's just a way to reward members with my time and have some fun.

i havnt been here too long so I dont know you that well, so I hope you dont mind me asking but, when you say money goes to site, what exactly do you mean? 10 bucks, u have a domain, what are you actually going to spend it on? Anyway, anothe question of mine is, you said ideas for prizes? I have a shit load of stuff that would be great for prizes that I dont use no more, like a perfect game boy advanced, little steering wheel thing for games like ps2, xbox, and all that shit, um -_- i donno jst alot of shit, and do I get money for sending these prizes? Domain costs 7 dollars. Don't forget actualy hosting. 250,000GB a month w/ 5 GB storage. I don't really ask for donations for the site, I've already prepayed for a year. If we get money it would go as prizes for dedicated members.
