Omg... Open source means you can edit it and learn from their source code... Open source is always better... Im not saying to use this as your default anti-virus...

Norton = Free anywhere even though it is suppose to cost money, you can renew your subscription by reinstalling the software. And... it lags your computer more than ANYTHING.

Noobs use Norton.. I am part of the anti-norton act. Not to mention.. I was just at bestbuy and its free there, you can pick it up and pay 40 or 20 bucks I dont remember, and then they give you the rebate..

Hmm, Norton firewall is one of the best I've ever used, this is the longest I've ever gone without a virus...

Put that together with random Avast! scans and I've found my computer pretty safe.

The rebate is over.

oh , PS, I have norton "Internet Security" which has some cool features. I recommend it.

i'm gonna try it since it's free. thanks

i use fix it utilitie's third-party plugin antivirus which is made by trend micro. trend micro is the company which guards US battleships at sea, in other words, the battlenet. of course, another software company keeps up the virus patterns called v-com.

i know it seems stupid, fix-it utilities seems like a joke, however the virus engine scans sys memory on startup, and has a real time scanner that won't even let you drag and drop a virus ladened file from your cdrom to hdd.

with that said, it doesn't seem to stop malware from websites so i use ad-watch from adaware to do that. coupled with firefox (w/ ads&scripts blocker plugin*), i rarely ever get a virus unless i install something that i know is gonna probably screw me (game fixes, keygens).

*script blocker -> https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/722/
*adblocker -> https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/10/

also, i've got most services cut off that i don't need running in the background thanks to the tutorial by blackviper**.
