Well my parents laptop power pin broke so they bought a new laptop.
The problem is getting the info to their new pc.
Here is their old hard drive, http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/dk/2/23ea60spec.html
What kind of cord would I need to convert that to IDE so I can up it to my pc
?

well you can either get a hdd enclosure or buy a new cord?

you can buy a little tool that plugs into your usb on a desktop
you plug the laptop harddrive into the device and it reads all the info and you get what you need simple

I don't want an enclosure case. But oh well, might as well get one because it'll letme get the **** out.

You should have just repaired it.. Or when they get the new laptop, repair it and use it for your use.

As for getting information off of it, get yourself some DVDs and use windows backup tool.
