I am planning on upgrading to watercooling in the near future. I won't be able to continue netting large overclocks on air due to the heat dissipation of DX10 cards. I'm planning on something high end that would make it worth while. cpu and gpu will be looped with a 2x120mm or 3x120mm radiator depending on heat output of OCed 8800s and the R600. I want to build it in an Antec P180 because of the recent decrease in price of the case.

I'm looking for any information from people who have worked with watercooling before.

This is my neck of the woods. here's my resume for you to review:

Here's my suggestions:

CPU Block: http://www.petrastechshop.com/dfuuncpubl1.html
GPU: Depends on what cards you want. Go for full coverage. More efficient.
Rad: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=200&products_id=3944
Pump: http://www.petrastechshop.com/laddcwpeddto.html
Fans: 3x http://www.petrastechshop.com/12yalod1cafa.html
Tubing: http://www.petrastechshop.com/1id3odtyr.html

as for Reservoir or Fillport is preference really. I'd get a Micro res from Performance PC-s with the fillport option and get a delrin fillport.

Res: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=318&products_id=3615

Fillport: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&manufacturers_id=96&products_id=20509

Also that case is really hard to watercool in. I suggest getting a fulltower of some sort. Cutting corners usually leads to problems down the road.

If you have any questions just ask!

Nice setup with the xfire. What case were you using with it?

I was thinking of getting Petra's Coolkit Elite which contains the components you recommended besides the 3x120mm radiator. Thanks for the advice.

It is a stacker. Or was. Lol. I took it a apart to scrounge parts for a cube case im working on. Thats a nice kit but that rad isnt as big as you would need if you plan on overclocking or going SLi/Crossfire.

i got a Zalman cooling unit, and never had so much differences with it that i will decide to install W/C to all the pc's i have.. It isnt as good as they say.. Im now looking into a Freon cooling unit..

Nice I'll look into that. My current case is almost about to collapse from all the holes drilled and pieces removed. xfire and sli is on the expensive and unnecessary side for me so a dual fan radiator should work with a single DX10 card. I may go with the triple anyway just for better overclocking.

yes the pa120.3 is the best rad ever. Want some graphs?

Dude explain why Zalman should be bad?

It's restrictive, passive (the add on fan sucks), its aluminum (copper gives you better temps.), and it's not meant for performance (especially in multiblock situations), it's meant for silence. The only thing worse is a thermaltake kit.

Now that's a answer i can do something with.. I already thought something like that when i didnt see a big decrease in temp droppings but for the rest i never thought about it again..

Like i mentioned before im now lokking for a freon cooling unit, thats the same stuff they use for airconditioning.. :D

before you go straight to freon (Im assuming thats somewhere along the lines of Phase Change) try peltier. You can achieve sub zero temps on the core but it requires a decent water cooling setup with the appropriate block. I fy ou want some help with that before you go insane and spend tons of money and time on Phase let me know.

Only things i need to by are the blocks for ont he CPU and Vidcards.. And even have to see if they fit on my Dual Vidcard... When they do the rest is easy, as i have worked with A/C before. As mechanic you gotta be a jack of all trades on a mission..
