Zune HD is available for Pre-Order Today.
Also, prices are 220 for 16GB(black) and 289 for a 32GB(platinum color)
The official launch will be Sept 15th.

These colors are only for pre-order. There will be a grand total of 10 designs available at Launch date for order.

I want one, but i dont think i can get any sort of a discount anywhere that i know of. Also, i hope deep inside ill get oen fro free.

The official numbers are:
Music, up to 33 hours (wireless off); video, up to 8.5 hours
Charge Time: Approximately 3 hours when connected to your PC, approximately 2 hours with A/C adapter
And it does have an AMOLED screen

I was thinking the same thing. My friend just recently got an Iphone, and he played some song on it and the quality of the music was absofuckinglutely terrible.

Actually MSFT has been hinting at an App store of it's own. It's also very capable of handling much better looking games than the iPhone thanks to Tegra.

True, Tegra is pretty luring, but the Apple App Store is pretty established. The ZuneHD will definitely help the Zune overall, but it's not going to overtake Apple's iPod (Insert Name Here) anytime soon. I'd probably get one if I didn't already enjoy my iPhone and wasn't planning on getting a PS3 near Christmas.

Yep, Zune monthly is 15 bucks and you have a library of like over a million songs.
Also, they are going to work VERY hard to get this thing pushed GLOBALLY. Because right now... as it stands... the ipod is very successful in the US and Europe, but hasnt gained as much unstoppable traction elsewhere, due to lack of availability and cost.

Especially when the zune is affordable for its price $289 for a 32gb? thats pretty good deal. Also having a HD radio which makes it awesome (free) and a video output (dock station required) but not bad tho.

Zune Monthly = $14.99
Radio is free.
The App Store has plenty of free apps, and highlights them all the time. As for paid apps, most only cost $0.99, some are more expensive. Plus if the Zune has an app store, chances are it will be similiar to Apple's and have paid apps as well.
Honestly the ZuneHD's real problem is going to be people saying, "What the fuck is a Zune?" My family had never heard of it until I got my mom one. Apple's iPod has been established for years. Majority of web users use Google, but Dogpile.com does the same thing.

The iPhone costs 500 and 600. You are merely getting a discount by going through ATT and having them subsidize your phone's price through the requirement of a data and voice plan which, over 2 years, will easily help ATT recoup the cost of the phone.
The zune costs 220 and 290 with no subsidization, no contracts, and no data plans. If i remember correctly, a full ATT voice and data plan will set you back 2800 over the course of two years.
here goes the microsoft/apple fight again.....

As said. It's all about distribution. I can't understand why MSFT don't release these globally...you can't find Zunes in Asia (as far as i can see)....that's 4 billion people. World population 6.75 billion....thats a large percentage, weird

Dude, before you go on a tirade about them not offering stuff globablly. They said that there is a VERY high probability that they will try to release the ZuneHD in countries where XboxLive is available. They want the Zune and Xbox and Windows to work together and be a trifecta of sorts. They want to do their best to get as many of these devices sold globally as they can, because most countries are neglected when it comes to MP3 players. So dont act like microsoft has already given up on the global market, because with this device i dont think its going to be true.
Ugh, I should sell my Ipod nano for this bad boy.
Btw, only switched to Ipod after my last Zune basically committed suicide.

The fact remains, Zunes are not available to 3/4 of the worlds population...not exactly a cunning plan....and this trifecta thing sounds all lovely and cosy, but if this is the reason they are late to market then.......you snooze you lose type thing. Personally, i want a player that ISN'T Apple and Zunes seem to be a good alternative that i can't get my hands on atm, shame really....i have no interest personally in a trifecta, i don't have an Xbox, i may or may not use Windows in the future. All these companys try to make some uber do it all device that is usually compromised as a result in the 1 thing most people would want it for...to PLAY music, not some webtablet doohickey with over 9000 megapixel camera, voice recognition and virtual keyboard operated by eyebrow movements

They're not trying to force a trifecta, they're just merely trying to increase the probability of everything being seamless. Thats what makes apples so appealing.
They're going to try to expand beyond the usual markets.

Saw the ZuneHD at BB. Only had the 16GB model with basically nothing on it other than a few pictures and a zuneHD intro video. lame that they dont have any music or good videos on it... and that they're out of stock of both 16 and 32GB models.
But good lord that thing is thin, and the video on it is amazingly vivid.

Yeah when I got it from the mail on the first day, I opened the box i was like wtf this shit is hella small. I seriously expected it to be a little bit more bigger than expected. But aye, its still nice none the less. It's not too small, but very portable and very light. I had the old zune (fat one) and upgrading to this is a good upgrade :].
I hope they fix the Zune Login because, I can't download anything off the marketplace yet -_-.

Yeah it's SOP to just throw it on display. I put ours on Display at my store and I made sure to load it up with a few songs.
