So I don't know if I'm going to have time for this before I leave for vacation, but I might be able to get this done later tonight or tomorrow. Basically I'm going to built an IR receiver that can detect any remote and then do some things off of that, like maybe control my computer or change some LED's. I have an IR receiver and transmitter, so I might be able to create a universal remote that turns off all TV's

LMAO You could go creepin in your neighborhood at night and find that fat bald guy on his lay-z-boy eating cheetos and you could go up to his window and just shut his fuckin TV off!

So I just pranked my step dad. I bought an IR Receiver from radioshack (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2049727) and set it up with my arduino. We have direct tv satellite TV and I captured the frequency of the up and down buttons on the universal remote. Every time you hit up it turns on a small annoying piezo buzzer, and when you hit down, it turns it off. I hid this thing behind the TV and my step-dad wanted to watch tennis and was like "wtf m8".
