I prefer Intel. Core2Duo Extreme is best, and it's cheaper than AMD Athlon 64 X2. 1 vote for Intel!
Intel new range of processors seem to have really replied to amds massive value for money advantage mid 2005 to early 2006. with new quad cores on the way and little publicity for any amazing amd alternative i think the balls back in intels court :) plus i find multiple general desktop usage to be better with intel than Amd

someone told me that AMD quad-cores is about >$1400 o.0 omg and when it's running it's hotter than intel (my computer 's average temp is 38 degree.) >< So my choice is Intel ><
Well, AMD has yet to really "announce" much on their own processors that will compete with the INTEL's currently on the market. I still have a hopeful eye on AMD.

The intel core 2 duo has been out benchmarking AMD's top prossesor for a while. Best prossesor on the market right now is the intel core 2 duo extreme.

While I am a Hardcore 100% AMD Fanboy I just can't tell anyone to buy from their camp right now. The Price to Performance ratio has nothing compared to Intel's Core 2 Duo. Also AMD's current response to Intel's Quad core just cant compare. Their Quad FX Platform will be a great upgrade in a few months but right now the 2 processors consume more power and make more heat but perform maybe on par if not worse than the Kentsfield. Also Quad FX mobos and CPU's are extremely hard to find right now.

oh come on, AMD has nothing against Intel currently.... and price/performance Intel also wins, E6600 beats an FX-60 in pretty much every case @ 2.4ghz, and their average overclock is 3.2-3.4... AMD will be coming out with K8L next year but Intel is also coming out with 45nm next year, so Intel DOES have a response to K8L. Yes AMD was winning during the 3000+ venice stages and went the 3800x2 just came out.... but its time to move on
