What if you could stream games, any game, over a decent broadband connection to your PC or Atom-based netbook at the same quality as the PS3? Would you walk away from your beloved console?
More on the article can be found http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/24/onlive-killed-the-game-console-star/Streaming over the interwebz sounds promising BUT!, That would take up so much bandwidth. Comcast would be pissed!

games that are PS3 quality will be large. like 8+ gigs.
It would make problems and people will find out ways to share them for free

It would be amazing if it worked well and was under $100, everyone would get it

Funny, I read about this in the newspaper this morning, and I thought about just the same thing: 'what about the bandwidth ?'
But I is a nice, original idea, that I have to admit

OnLive streams the video output of a game on their machines. You do not have to download the game xD

Man, when I heard about this. I seriously think how can they really pull this off lol. Like seriously I would think like it would be very laggy. Someone tested this on Gizmodo said they is a big delay on playing the game.

Yeah, But you also have to think how we are coming to, well not far but a lot of people will have fiber optic before you know it.

I remember reading somewhere that we're supposed to have in a few years, I think it was like 250+mb wiring.

The ability of the lines bandwidth has nothing to do with it. Comcast and other ISP's have already started limiting the monthly limits of how much you can download etc. Once you hit that mark they throttle your connection so your speeds drop to damn near nothing until the enxt month. Go over too many months in a time period and they cut your service.

I had thought of this idea before, and I'm kinda surprised they're bringing this out this early. I thought the bandwich, and server costs would be much too expensive to do this now. I expected at least another 5 or so years before someone would end up doing it.
I think it will just fall on it's face. Not enough people are going to do it, and the bandwich costs are too high, as you guys have stated. Also, the current game selection is lacking.

You would need to install some of it first then the rest would stream, sounds like fantasy to me, i'll stick with my console for the time being
