Lately, we've been needing more people to control the forum. As the current staff members of ZomgStuff are highly busy with schoolwork, work, and outside social life, we need other people to help look over the forum for us. We're looking for moderators to moderate the forum. Your permissions will be limited to forum moderation tasks, no administrative tasks.
We will allow the submissions to roll in, and we will make our pick on Friday, March 6th. That is 3 weeks out, and that should give you plenty of time to post your application, and to refer an active friend.
Forum Permissions:
Merge, move, copy, delete, and approve (where valid) posts
Approve attachments
Delete, sticky, open, close, merge, move, trash threads
Ban & unban members
View/ search for user IP's
Access to VIP, 1337, Admin Lounge, & Refugee Camp forums
Responsibilities:
Do the weekly ZomgStuff News, (and do it well). You will be provided raw data & you must piece it all together and talk about recent site events.
Moderate users, posts, and ratings.
Help promote activity within ZomgStuff & help attract new active members
Help make suggestions on promoting & improving the community.
At times you might have to do boring & time-intensive errands on the forum, be prepared for such things. Being a moderator isn't all about having a new elite status and the ability to ban left and right.
Requirements:
You must meet all of the following requirements to submit an application, and even have your submission be considered. **
Must be an active member of the forum. VIP/1337 status is not required, but preferred.
Must be able to devote at least 30-60 minutes to ZomgStuff surfing a day.
Must refer an active friend to the forum, subsequent to the creation of this thread.*
Must correctly fill out an application in this thread.
How to Apply:
Post in this thread and answer the following questions. Remember that a 1-worded response or 1-sentence response will suffice, but if you're trying to show that you can be a good future moderator, you might want to go the extra mile and elaborate. Please fill this out as if this were a college application, take your time and use correct spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation.
Why do you want to become a moderator at ZomgStuff?
What do you think will make you a good moderator?
How much time can you devote to the site on a daily basis?
How would ZomgStuff benefit & improve from you becoming a moderator?
Include the name of the new member you referred as dictated by Requirement #3.
Please keep this thread strictly for submissions. If you would like to discuss this thread, please create another thread in General Discussion.
*The catch is, to apply for a moderation position, you MUST refer a new active member AFTER the date and time of the creation of this post. This member must be active for more than a few days. We're looking for a member that can build a strong positive reputation. We ARE NOT looking for a member to spam post for a few days until you get your position.
**We will make an exception for Requirement Criteria #4 in regards to application submission. You may post your application now, and if you have not referred a friend yet, you must say so somewhere in your application, and you must fulfill Requirement Criteria #4 before Friday, February 20th rolls around.

I would like to become a ZomgStuff Forum Moderator because I have been with this Forum for over 2 years. I was at one time a 1337 member before our disagreements. During my time on this site I have been nothing but trustworthy I have never once leaked or done anything to betray ZomgStuff even while I was banned for those few months. I think I would make a good moderator because I currently browse and post on this site for at least 3-4+ hours a day. I have shown that I enjoy this community and the members and threads within it. If I became moderator I would try to be honest and fair with everyone and every decision I made as a moderator I would also put aside time in my schedule to make time to do the news the best to my abilities. I may not be the best writer in the world but I can write, and write well. I will try my best to recruit a new forum member but at the moment I have not.

I would like to become a forum moderator because I like to help out, i've also been on this forum for a very long time and never did anything wrong nor have a leaked anything, because I no life I spend most of my time on a computer and I am on this site almost every 10 minuets because of that I feel like I could be a good moderator and control spam bots and people who deserve to be banned. Zomgstuff would benefit from me by having less problems and having certain threads in certain sections of the forum that should not be visible. I've learned from my mistakes of being a moderator before and I will try to do my best with the news and I apologize for not taking it seriously the last time I was a moderator. Since im pretty darn active, I may not post as much as some people do daily but i lurk a lot. I am sure I can keep this forum maintined and make sure certain threads and people would be delt with quickly. That is how i feel Zomgstuff will benefit me from being a moderator.

1. Based on the information you gave me, I think it's a position I could fill pretty easily, and I would be a good candidate because I can meet all of the expectations listed. I have (hopefully apparently) changed since I was previously an admin.
2. Reclame my throne.
.... Kidding... I have a pretty level head, I won't be making any big decisions without getting the input and bouncing ideas off of fellow mods/admins. I will post, speak, and represent zomgstuff.com with a respectful and interesting tone, because I know as a mod I must post and choose my words carefully.
3. Somewhere between 45 and 90 minutes. I will not be able to make appearances after 7-8ish Friday and Saturday, but still can be on for a good chunk of time earlier during the day.
4. I can make good decisions that will benefit zomgstuff.com as a whole. As I stated earlier, I will be bouncing all big ideas/decisions off of fellow mods and admins. I can add good and creative input, I'd like to point out my post in the suggestion thread ( http://forum.zomgstuff.net/showthread.php?t=18484 post #9)
5. Even though I don't think me getting one new person to join is crucial to my position as a moderator, now should be the determining factor that will make or break my position, as I can add much more in the long run, I will be contacting my better friends who I know would dig the site. I'll keep you posted on who I get to join.
If you read my whole app, thanks.
then i see a thread with comments like this: http://forum.zomgstuff.net/showthread.php?p=177581#post177581
great...........
Edit 2: And I believe I've already expressed my interest in doing the news...

I want to become a moderator for Zomgstuff because I feel that I am experienced on moderating other forums and I have had a few forums on my own. I think I will make a good moderator by being active on the forum (which I am most of the time). I am also a good trader, I can make sure I can bring a lot of traders to ZomgStuff which can really help boost up the forum posts and etc. I am willing to devote about 4-5 hours a day and on the weekends even more. Zomgstuff will benefit me having a moderator (well a trade moderator at least) will help keep scammers off the forum and as well help moderate the trading sections and also moderate other channels as well by reducing spam from the forum. I also feel I am respected enough to become a moderator for Zomgstuff since I have contributed and showed my loyalty to zomgstuff and I know all the admins and moderators on the forums via messengers. Hopefully I can become a moderator or at least a Moderator that can moderate the trade section at least. Thanks hope you take my submission seriously! Thanks ♥♥♥. I have referred a few trade users. Like swTCH and Pop to the forum. They are somewhat experience. I'll even get more traders on the forum and make sure this forum gets back on top.
I also invited a friend "Gold" he is a friend that will be active on the forum. He usually goes on 4chan, so you can be waiting for some surprises :)
EDIT: I added sentence for #4
Also another thing is, if I don't make it as a moderator, I am willing to take a smaller role maybe a trade moderator? just a suggestion.

1. As a long time member,I love Zomgstuff. I surf Zomgstuff daily and spend a lot of time reading and post little spam and posting new ideas and get along with all the members.
2. I think I would be a good moderator because I have experience as a moderator on other a few other sites. I have a lot of experience with game hosting company ( www.artofwarcentral.com ) and know how a lot of dedicated servers should be set up (Windows, some Linux. ) I also know HTML .
3. I can devote (and have before) atleast 2 hours a day posting and monitoring Zomgstuff ( most days not every day) I am on most holidays and during school hours.
4. Zomgstuff would improve if I were a moderator because
I could devote a lot of time to the site
There would be less spam
I meet most all requirements, and use to love reading the weekly Zomgstuff news.
The only thing I am missing is the "referred friend" I have referred a few people but they did not turn out to be active and I am unsure if they put me as a reference or not.
I will be looking for new members to join over the next few days.
Thanks for considering my application.
Why do you want to become a moderator at ZomgStuff?
Umm... Who wouldn't?
What do you think will make you a good moderator?
I've been here a while and everyone loves me. I post a lot and am active daily, err... well not recently because my computer exploded, it looked pretty fucking batshit.
How much time can you devote to the site on a daily basis?
Like, over 6 hours daily >.>
How would ZomgStuff benefit & improve from you becoming a moderator?
The question is; how wouldn't it? As I stated in question #2, I am active and know the whereabouts. I'm also trustworthy when it comes to authority, and I have been admin/mod on countless sites you've never even heard of, lol.
Include the name of the new member you referred as dictated by Requirement #3.
Remember that one kid who i referred back in january? he was really active for a while, if you remember. He kinda died off, though. Steamgear, wasn't it? Yeah. I think that makes up for not referring anyone recently. Or after this post.
Umm, thanks for reading and vote for me, because you know if anyone else wins they will all instantly try to permban me.

ok... not sure if I can do this.. but I would like to apply to be a skin designer for this forum. Some of my work can be found here: (but note it is limited to what bebo can let you do) Xxx.Agent'Selyts-Peterstyles.Xxx <p_styling>
I would like to become a "skin maker" at ZomgStuff -- (yes I know this isn't what this topic is about), so people have more of a choice when it comes to forum customisation.
I can actually use photoshop.... well.
Not alot of time, considering that I am flooded with homework; but when I get around to it, I can apparently do some amazing things.
Refer to 1.
I'm an idiot?...I can't seem to get the refer feature working :(..... but I did however recommend it to my friend about a couple of minutes ago. Their link is http://forum.zomgstuff.net/member.php?u=10105

1. Because you need more moderators, not just one or two, but a couple. I surfed through your mod list and saw you lost a lot of the ones you used to have. It's a lot of work for just one person to chew.
2. I seem to find myself with more time on a daily basis. I have experience with with forum communities and have ran forums before in the past.
3. I may not be like zomgrocks but, I can devote a few hours a sitting a few sittings a day.
4. I think this site could use the help. Its a lot more active now and I think I would be a useful hand in maintaining.
5. Has not been reached yet but will edit when requirement has been fulfilled.

Why do you want to become a moderator at ZomgStuff?
I would like to be a moderator here because I think the site would profit from me being one and because I want to know how a forum like this really works behind the facade. I believe I have what it takes to fill this position and I'm able to devote a good amount of time to it.
What do you think will make you a good moderator?
I know my way around the internet, have a thick skin (which is, in my opinion, essential to being a good and fair moderator) and I take jobs like this seriously. I love this forum, I have made a lot of friends here and I want to give something back to it and by being a mod, I believe I can do that. I would also be willing to do the news...
How much time can you devote to the site on a daily basis?
When I'm not away, I could spend at least 3h on the site, more if necessary or if I have to do things like the news. I am also from Europe, meaning that I can be on at odd times when no other member of the administrating team is on to supervise the site.
How would ZomgStuff benefit & improve from you becoming a moderator?
I would do my best to promote the site and I would be a dedicated and fair moderator. I would devote a lot of my free time to improving the site and I would be willing to do the dirty work such as cleaning up spambot posts, doing the news etc.
Include the name of the new member you referred as dictated by Requirement #3.
I haven't referred anyone yet, because I don't know many people interested in a forum like this, seeing as I live in Switzerland and hardly anyone speaks enough english to participate here, but I'm working on it.
Thanks for considering my application.
1. Why do you want to become a moderator at ZomgStuff?
I Want to become a Moderator at Zomgstuff Because I have Extensive Knowledge of what is acceptable, unacceptable for people to post, who can be trusted, who cannot, I was been a Administrator for Zomgstuff... oh wow 2 years ago. Doing mainly PHP stuff if i recall correctly.
2. What do you think will make you a good moderator?
What would make me Qualified For this positioning is because I have ran A few administrative sites before and been a well Leader on games etc. I believe having stuff like tourney's Giveaway's etc bring in people more than anything else.
3. How much time can you devote to the site on a daily basis? Tuesdays I have only 60 Minutes I can Be on the site, Otherwise I can do from 5-6 Hours daily moving, editing, being the "Police" of the forums , I will also release some of my programing knowledge to hopefully help people make programs for whatever they want. (Its hard for me to write a guide Video Tut probably.)
4. How would ZomgStuff benefit & improve from you becoming a moderator?
Zomgstuff Would Get more Active helpful people that does active debate, active informational posts that help people in many ways
5. Include the name of the new member you referred as dictated by Requirement #3. Wtrsport430 He was active quite a while ago, But is deployed in Iraq right now.
Additional's
I have been with zomgstuff for a long time from it being hosted on some free hosting way back then till now, I have seen people who can make a difference in the forums rolls, We need more posts on how to do stuff like modding making psp games etc. I'm Absolutely sure i have brought in many more people but not under as a referral link.

1. Why do you want to become a moderator at ZomgStuff?
I've been with ZomgStuff for quite a while, and I feel like a part of the community. I've been checking out Zomgstuff almost every day since the day I joined and have enjoyed every minute of it. I can help improve the community's quality because I know what it wants.
2. What do you think will make you a good moderator?
As for the weekly news, I love writing and blogging, and I know how to make interesting stories. Also, as I said before, I know what the community wants and I know how to make their stay here at ZomgStuff more pleasant.
I host a social community myself (Gleak.net, inactive at the moment as I'm preparing for some updates), so I know how to make members satisfied and pleased to stay at the community.
3. How much time can you devote to the site on a daily basis?
1 to 4 hours. Depends on my exams and projects.
4. How would ZomgStuff benefit & improve from you becoming a moderator?
I have a server computer which I can host special events on for ZomgStuff. I'm also currently working on several games and animations which I plan on getting on the Newgrounds front page. I can advertise ZomgStuff in this content. My animated web content creation skills can also work out for webdesigning.
5. Include the name of the new member you referred as dictated by Requirement #3.
I'll get some active members ASAP.
Thank you for reading!
