This looks so awesome, its like appleTV but its got alot more of everything. Its going to be very similar in specs with the New AppleTV Gen3.
If its the right price id buy one for every room in my home

If it doesn't overheat and melt itself into your home entertainment center then it already beats Apple TV.

nowhere in this article does it say anything about releasing something to compete with the apple TV. this is a Chip that can handle HD video that can be put into netbooks. (i think)

Im sorry but i wasnt getting all of my analysis from the article, i know that may seem new to you but essentially what they are donig si taking a 3 chip set and making it a 2 chipset and giving it better performance and creating less heat and saving space. And yes, these can also be used as HTPCs and if you read the article it would also say that these could be used as HTPCs which is exactly what appleTV is... except for you have to hack it to make it usable like a real htpc.

okay, that is quite a bit different than something to compete against the apple TV. which would be an odd move for Nvidia since they make the chip's for apple's laptops. wouldnt want to piss apple off.

nvidia isnt in the business of making reference boards and reselling them to companies to sell as their own. They only do this with their videocards and motherboards and are slowly moving awaY FROM THIS model and are moving into more of the pure chipset business. Who says that they wont sell this chipset to apple for apple tv? who says that they wont sell this to apple for other means. They could sell the same chipset to different companies who may use them for difference purposes. the pictures you see are simply prototype reference designs made to display the full capability of this chipset. and yes, this could easily compete with apple, there is nothing that says that nvidia cant make something that may compete with an apple product nor does it say that apple cant use it in their products...:emot-keke:
