I've heard different stories. My brother-in-law has had Verizon phones activated on other CDMA carriers but it's against policy. Verizon will be launching a Touch Pro probably about 6 months after sprint releases theirs.

All the reviews I have seen say it is uber smooth and it only chugs when you have alot of shit running at once since unlike the iphone you can actually multi-task. Also did they review the sprint one or the GSM one? The GSM one has less ram and it's easier to slow down.

It was the Sprint one. They said scrolling through things like images took quite a while for each to load. App launching also appeared kinda slow.

Sprint feels the need to be different. Also if I wanted it to be black I could always just order a telus back. It's looks just like mine but it has a Black back.

They had to make it different because the CDMA version has a much larger battery.

Indeed. Also if I leave the flash on theres no chance of seeing whats on the screen and I suck at night shots so they just become a blurfest like above.

Actually the pictures make it look a lot better. When i held it in my hand the plastic back felt shite (diamond design or not) plus i reckon it would scratch easily and not be as comfy in your pocket (cos it ain't flat). Im suprised at all the different models that are made for the US market e.g less RAM etc. Over here there IS only one.

It's not that good. I've heard lot of complaints the main being it scratches VERY easily. Also it doesn't want to sit totally flat. Hell I dropped mine on concrete (I know I punched myself in the nuts afterwards) and it bounced across the pavement. Well the only nicks areo n the edges. No screen or front issues and the back still looks flawless. Here's a tip to anyone who wants this phone. Invest in a silicone jacket. Here's my views after exactly a week.

Pros:

Sex appeal. I get comments on it all the time. Many have told me it's even sexier than the iPhone.
Customization. Redistry edits make this phone badass. ANy issues you find can be fixed with a simple reg edit using a program called Total Commander most of the time.
Screen. Oh god. I can't say this enough. the screen is god. It's bright and crisp.
UI. I like it better than the iPhones'. It's totally idiot proof. Want to set alarms? Touch the clock on the home screen. Want to listen to music? Slide over to the Music tab and flip through your collection. Live TV on your phone? Damn right. Just slide to the Sprint TV tab, connect, and pick your channel. Also the Sprint UI is even better than the standard HTC one. I like how well the Sprint clock blends in compared to the HTC one. Also the neon look is slick looking.
Browser. Opera > All until Firefox mobile is finally released.
Speed. Even though I'm limited to 1x (EDGE Speed) internet in my area for a few more months it's pretty zippy. Pages load alot faster than they did on my old HTC Dash. If I do find a page that loads slow I just use Wi-Fi. Win achieved.

Cons:

Battery Life. This is an issue with most high performance phones. Data and such zap battery life. I highly siggest carryibng a second one if you will be using your phone a shitload. My battery usually lasts me 2 days. I leave Data on 24/7 and I check my email often. I also browse the web and text alot. If I talked more on it I would say I would have 1.5 days max battery life.
Slow Downs. The phone does have slow downs even with this much ram. Why you ask? Why doesn't the iPhone slow down? This wonderful thing called multitasking. You can't do it on the iPhone. the only time it does slow down is when I forget to close stuff in Task Manager.
Keyboard. Yeah. It's small but I found a fix for it. The stylus. I type amazingly fast using the stylus. Even faster than I did on my HTC Dash which had a physical QWERTY.

9/10 overall. Well worth the $$.

It is indeed slightly thicker and it's only $50 more. I love just about everything about the keyboard. it just feels right when I hold it.
