ok, i think i gots this down.
i have AnyDvd, which gets rid of any copyright protection on the disc
http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html
and i have Clone DVD, which writes the image from the dvd
http://www.slysoft.com/en/clonedvd.html
and then i use Daemon tools to read the image and play it off a virtual drive
that sounds way too complicated, isnt there an easy way to just save it and play it?
help a brotha out.

I think it'd be easier just to save it as an .avi file. Both are big files though.

how do u do that?
is that where u just rip the files? cause i did that, and it has like a file for each chapter, and thats a pain.
i was trying to figure out how to rip it as a divx file, cause arent those alot smaller?

dvd shrink is a simple way to copy dvds and you can keep the files on your hard drive as well. check out www.videohelp.com as there are many tutorials and resources.

Yeah i recommend Dvd shrink too. Aswell as ripping all videos including menus, extras etc... it compresses the size, saving space.

For DVD to DVD, use DVD Shrink.
For DVD to HDD, for DivX, use Dr. DivX, for other media files, use Xilisoft.

DVD to HDD I suggest DVD Decrypter, then use D-Tools to mount it and watch.

Does take up around 8GB per DVD though

That does not make it into one single media file.. That makes it so you can rip it to another DVD. Some media players will read .vob files, though.

I rly don't need to explain myself. Ask anyone here.

It does make it into one file, not necessarily a media file.

I rip my movies to ISO+MDS, not to vob files, go to MODE>ISO>READ and in the options select "create MDS file"

Then with alcohol or daemon you can mount the ISO and cleanly watch it as if the actual disc was in your drive

Sorry, I forgot you can eliminate the .vob files you do not need.

And I didn't know the second part. Nice.

I just ripped the protector the other day from some special blockbuster "exclusive!" dvd with Acala dvd ripper.
d/l, keygen, rip, enjoy.
Saves as .avi

I'm gonna check out dvd shrink though since everyone here is amazed by it.

Try ratDVD (www.ratdvd.dk/), it takes quite a while but makes the files really small and has good quality and you have the whole dvd in one file which you can open with WMP
