ipod wont recognize

my friends ipod wont be recognized by her laptop
i downloaded the latest itunes and restarted her comp but it still wont recognize
help please

It's happened to me a lot, not sure how to fix it though.

hol menu+center for six seconds.... then right when it reboots press and hold.. center and play.. and connect to computer

is it recognized on other computers, if not, i think you might have to do a restore, to put your touch in recovery mode, hold down the power button and the home button, it will restart, you still need to hold it down, then you should see a itunes icon and a cable on the screen.if that doesnt work put you touch in what we call DFU mode, you do this by holding down the power and home screen button, once it restarts, just hold the home button, it will not show anything on the screen but your computer will recognize it in recovery mode as well.

Your going to have to format it for it to work...



You have to be connected to your computer for this to work. Press and hold the sleep and home button. You have to hold it for a long time.
Even when it turns off keep pressing the buttons.
When the apple logo appears, let go of the sleep button but keep holding the home button
If done correctly a screen will appear and it will be the same one as when you bought your iPoT
You will now have to click restore. and it will restore.
The problem would be fixed
